JBL Partners with Martin Garrix Academy; Shortlists Two Indian Artists for the Music Workshop in Amsterdam

Two winners shortlisted from 229 entries in India, homegrown artists to join Martin Garrix Music Academy in Amsterdam in November

India - JBL is back with its class of 2024 JBL x Martin Garrix Music Academy. For the second consecutive year, JBL has partnered with Martin Garrix, world- renowned DJ and JBL brand ambassador, to bring together a powerful platform for discovering and nurturing exceptional budding musical talent, with Garrix's unparalleled expertise and passion guiding the way. Two artists from India have been shortlisted and are all set to fly to Amsterdam in November, to be a part of a music workshop with Martin Garrix.

Kunal Kumawat is a multi-instrumentalist and beatboxer, who found his passion for music in school and was inspired to explore music production after watching Martin Garrix's "Animals" tutorial. While Saachi Rajadhyaksha, an alt-pop/soul artist from Mumbai, blends jazz, funk, and pop influences. She has already opened for global acts like Shaggy and The Vamps and is trained in both Western and Hindustani music.

Following a successful first phase, where India topped global submissions with an impressive 229 entries, 15 participants were chosen to create soundtracks, and 6 of these tracks were selected by leading musicians-cum-mentors—Oaff Music, Karan Kanchan, and Vasuda Sharma.

The mentors had collaborated with 6 semi-finalists 'Childhood in Bangalore' by @iamgubbi, 'Masala Chai' by @venram.music, 'The Power' by @heyitssaach, 'Celebration of Jaipur's rich cultural heritage' by @kunalmusicofficial, 'Japi' by @laxommusic and 'Indigo Dreams' by @rithwkmusic to refine their music, which was made available on Instagram. These compositions reflected India's #HeartOfSound. These semi-finalists were reviewed by Team Garrix on a global level.

The Music Academy offers these up-and-coming musicians, songwriters, singers, and producers the opportunity to learn from industry experts and connect with other artists.

In-depth workshops from leading figures in the music industry, including Martin Garrix himself, will focus on music creation, branding, and business. The Music Academy provides artists with valuable insights into various aspects of the music industry to prepare them for success.

JBL also supported several Class of 2023 alumni with opportunities to showcase their music and represent JBL at events and festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival, the JBL Snow Party, and many more.

“At JBL, we believe in the transformative power of music and its ability to inspire the next generation of artists.
