Antonio

Antonio, a Principal Engineer at HARMAN, embodies the spirit of inclusivity as the events coordinator for HARMAN Pride in the U.S. Reflecting on the significance of events like Motor City Pride, he emphasizes: "Events like Motor City Pride demonstrate that HARMAN truly cares.​" For Antonio, the Pride ERG is not just about organizing events; it's about creating a sense of community and belonging. "The HARMAN Pride ERG focuses mainly on creating a community of diverse individuals," he says. His dedication to this cause is evident in his tireless efforts to coordinate events that bring people together and promote understanding, acceptance, and fun.

LaNeisha

For LaNeisha, Global Diversity Manager at HARMAN, inclusivity goes beyond policy—it's a deeply personal commitment to fostering a workplace culture where everyone can thrive. "Inclusivity is about the respect and acceptance you receive from your colleagues, regardless of differences.," she explains. LaNeisha underscores the importance of open dialogue and mutual respect in creating an environment where learning and growth are celebrated, and that is something held high in HARMAN culture. "True inclusivity," she adds, "is when we can admit our vulnerabilities and embrace the opportunity to learn from one another."

Cesar

Cesar, Director of Hardware Engineering, traces his journey towards acceptance within the workplace back to his first attendance at a gay pride parade in Detroit years ago. "It's crucial for companies like HARMAN to demonstrate their commitment to inclusivity," he says. Cesar highlights the importance of corporate support in fostering an inclusive environment. "By providing a safe space for employees, we not only enhance workplace morale but also attract top talent seeking a supportive workplace."

Brianna

As Manager of Global Employer Branding, Brianna plays a pivotal role in shaping HARMAN's external image as an employer of choice for diverse talent. "Representation matters," she asserts, noting the significance of showcasing HARMAN's commitment to DEI at events and forums. "When prospective candidates see our dedication to inclusivity, they envision a workplace where they can bring their whole selves to work." Brianna believes that by celebrating individuality and fostering an environment of acceptance and learning, HARMAN not only attracts talent but also cultivates a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Devin

Devin, a Customer Lead Engineer, values the role of ERGs like HARMAN Pride in fostering connections among colleagues from diverse backgrounds. "ERGs provide a platform for networking and learning beyond our daily roles," Devin explains. "They encourage us to engage with colleagues we may not interact with regularly, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of diversity." He finds this interaction invaluable, broadening perspectives and enriching collaboration across teams.

Rob

Rob, a Car Audio Specialist at HARMAN, passionately advocates continuous growth and openness within the company. "We must expand our horizons and embrace diversity," Rob asserts. "By stepping outside our comfort zones, we gain new insights and perspectives that drive innovation." He believes that fostering a culture where diverse voices are heard and respected is beneficial for employees and essential for driving HARMAN's success in a rapidly evolving industry.
