As we celebrate Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, we recognize its immense importance to our diverse workforce. With many of our employees celebrating this festive occasion, we embrace the opportunity to engage in various activities that embody its spirit.
In India, where we are making technology more dynamic and responsive through our Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) and Automotive businesses, we celebrate not just the festival itself but also the values it represents. One of our cherished initiatives is the diya painting activity, where team members come together to create beautiful oil lamps or diya. By sharing our creativity with one another, we truly get to the heart of everything HARMAN represents connection. And in this instance, it goes beyond collaborating with colleagues, by using the diyas to make a meaningful impact in our communities.
In partnership with Sandesh, a Bangalore-based NGO that supports children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we provide our employees with a meaningful platform to contribute to a noble cause. The painted diyas are packaged and sold by Sandesh, allowing us to support children in need while fostering a sense of belonging among our team. "Each brushstroke feels like a moment of mindfulness, where I can express individuality while connecting with the deeper meanings of the festival—prosperity, joy, and the triumph of light over darkness," shares Asha, Associate Specialist.
This activity not only enhances our creative skills but also cultivates a sense of camaraderie among employees. "A diya painting event during Diwali serves as a fun, inclusive platform where employees can bond through creativity, teamwork, and celebration, enhancing personal connections and promoting a positive workplace culture," highlights fellow HARMAN employee Dhanalakshmi.
Such celebrations serve as an opportunity for team members to come together, strengthening interpersonal relationships. Beyond just a break from daily routines, these gatherings allow for fun activities that can create lasting memories. "It's that time of year for joy, family get-togethers, and celebrations! Organizing a thoughtful Diwali party in the office can really lift everyone's spirits, strengthen team bonds, and provide a nice break for some fun activities together." says Ajit.
These activities contribute to a positive and uplifting atmosphere, reminding everyone of the joy found in shared experiences. More importantly, they provide a sense of purpose, as individuals come together to create something meaningful. Divya, Talent Acquisition Manager, reflects, "Participating in activities like diya painting brings our whole team together. It adds color and brightness to our day, knowing we're contributing to something meaningful."
As we celebrate Diwali, let us remember the light we bring into each other's lives and the impact we can have when we come together. Every moment spent in collaboration and creativity is a testament to our shared values and our dedication to making a difference.
